BattleBit Remastered is one of the year’s breakout hits, a low-poly Battlefield-style FPS big on the destruction and, most importantly for players, big on value. The game has quickly found an enormous audience, many of whom are delighted by the idea of a game with an upfront price that doesn’t subsequently nickel-and-dime them with a battle pass or DLC elements: you pays your money, you gets the whole thing.

The game has sold over two million copies in its first few weeks of release, and developer TheLiquidHorse took part in a fan Q&A to talk about BattleBit’s future. “This is just wild,” the developer said of the game’s success. “I don’t even think any one of us has realised what we actually have done now.”

The Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake sparked some serious excitement when it was announced back in 2021. KOTOR is a seriously good RPG and a top-tier Star Wars experience, but at 20 years old it’s also very dated. Unfortunately, it has not been smooth sailing since, and at this point there’s legitimate doubt that the remake will ever see the light of day. It’s hard to overstate how big Baldur’s Gate 3 is. It’s a massive sales hit, it claimed all the awards, and it turned Larian, already a well-respected studio thanks to its outstanding Divinity: Original Sin games, into RPG royalty. I think it’s fair to say that nobody could have predicted this, but in the latest issue of Edge (via GamesRadar), Larian CEO Swen Vincke said he had big ambitions for the studio, and that there were only three games he felt could make it happen.

The Divinity games are great, and they carry a lot of weight among dedicated RPG fans, but they don’t have the brand recognition of Baldur’s Gate, and more broadly, Dungeons and Dragons. Riot has tried its hand at a lot of things to bring its already massively-popular MOBA League of Legends to a wider audience, from spinoff games to animated series and even some high-profile musical crossovers. But one area it’s not interested in venturing into, for the core game at least, is the realm of user-generated content: UGC has been a massive boon for some games, but Riot doesn’t see it as a good fit for League.

Riot’s head of League Studio Andrei van Roon said in a recent Q&A session that while the studio might be interested in pursuing UGC in other projects, League of Legends itself isn’t really built for that sort of thing.

The Palit GeForce RTX 4090 Neptunus. A suitably weird name for a sufficiently weird graphics card. This is a hybrid GPU. It’s both air-cooled and liquid-cooled, and it combines both to offer absolutely stellar thermal performance.

Palit has the Neptunus up-and-running over at its Computex 2024 booth. The card is enormous, obviously, and comes with a traditional shroud with three fans. Its special skill, however, comes from the liquid cooling connectors on the exterior edge of the card.

These connectors hook up to a channel, a channel which loops around the GPU component on the card. The standard shroud cold plate surrounds it on all sides, the AquaFusion copper base, which also makes sure the 24GB of GDDR6X on the RTX 4090 doesn’t get too toasty.
